Welcome!

My new blog is a work in progress, but I had to show you my latest images big! So keep watching for updates, and make sure to change your bookmarks!!

I've studied art all my life, always loved kids...it wasn't until I started taking pictures of my kids that my two loves "clicked" I want to share my love and talent with other parents so they can have portraits of their children that capture their true character.

Is this what triplets would feel like?

You might remember some of these little ones… I photographed the boy and girl twins last December for thier 1 year portraits.  The whole family is so cute, sweet and super fun…so I was excited to hear back from them for another session this summer.  This time I had the pleasure of meeting mom’s sister and her husband and son (who was just about the twins age too), all in town from Germany for a short time!  The sister’s mom, AKA Grandma was there too.  (And I could not believe it was Grandma, she seriously looked younger than me!)

So yes, this was a challenging session, this age is hard for photos, they are so busy with their new independance that they usually don’t want to look up for just one minute for the camera.  And three!  All going in different directions!  But I think we got some terrific shots!  Here are just a few from last night:

All the way from Zoolander, taking a rest before the big walk off, you might recognize Mr. J:

And oh my, did his sister Miss. C get cuter if that is possible:

Another superstar pose from J, and here is cousin R in from abroad:

We had to resort to silly tricks to get the kids together for group shots.  Mom is hiding behind the log for Grandma’s picture, and look at those boys ready to go get in trouble:

Love these ones:

It was so nice to meet you all!  I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay…have a safe trip back!

Supermodel… not yet anyway

I was so flattered a while back when I was contacted by this family to do L’s senior pictures.  Her sister contacted me from Chicago, and L is from Lansing, MI and they all traveled here for her session.

This session was just amazing, I have so many creative locations and L is so gorgeous…that I went on and on picking shots for her sneak peak.  Her aunt was able to get us into Owens Corning, and there is this courtyard in the center of the complex that I never knew existed.  We used some indoor and outdoor spots there too, and we had to cut ourselves off or we would have been there all day.  We had a second location to get to!

This location was one of those small world funny stories.  Older sister had emailed me about this amazing loft downtown that was owned by her aunt’s friend, she said we could use it.  As she described the loft, I was sure I knew which one it was.  So I asked, and yes…I shot the owner’s grandson there last year!  This loft is just something out of a magazine, I’m so lucky to have been able to shoot there twice now.

OK, now that I’ve rambled, I know you all want to see the supermodel :)  This is L:

My favorite doors ever, in the loft.  And Miss L sure does them justice:

Hmm, I’m out of order, this is earlier:

Oh if you could see all of this bathroom, unbelievable!  L was up for this fun shot… and I had some fun playing with it, B&W with a pink tint and texture… I think it works:

There were so many bright colors, I’m going to have a hard time going with B&W much.  Isn’t she gorgeous??

LOVE this one, just love it.

I had so much fun with L&L and their mom and aunt, thank you so much for choosing me for your session!  I hope you all had safe trips home!

I was supposed to have a 2 year old session today with a favorite family, but they all have been sick and didn’t feel any better, M, S, and L - get well soon!!

Speaking of 2, Lucy will be on Friday!  Ugh, does time fly… I need to get her session pictures up, she probably doesn’t look the same as last month anymore…

Strong baby boy

I met this little baby finally yesterday.  He was 13 days (!!!!!!!)  overdue!  Poor mom was in the hospital for 6 days while they tried to induce her… we had to reschedule and reschedule.  But I think it was worth it!

They thought I was crazy when I was setting up this next shot, I love it… plus I got a smile:  And he was super cozy on their ottoman in the sunroom.  It was so nice and warm out there, happy baby environment!

He looks so peaceful here.  Don’t let that fool you!  This guy is going to be full of energy in just a few months, he was so strong holding his head up all the time, and very curious about everything around him.

It was so nice to meet you all!  I hope Grandma enjoys spoiling you all as much as she can before she leaves…

I had the coolest senior session today!  We had access to all kinds of super cool private property, beautiful girl, and fun family!  I’ll get those up late tonight or tomorrow, I can’t wait to see them!

Chubby baby and big bro

Catching up from earlier this week:  I’ve had a lot of overdue mommies lately, I feel bad for them…I know how much I was done being pregnant, in my case months before the babies were due.

This little lady was over a week late and she ended up being 9 lbs 15 oz!!!!  Yikes!  She was a sweet little chub ball though!

Man, I loved big brother’s eyes:

The start of a smile:

And there it is, the smirk:

I’ve been wanted to do this for a while…she was so big in it!!  Not excatly what I was picturing, but fun and cute anyway!

She would not sleep for us, too much going on I think!

I think these are my favorites of the day:

Sweet senior

Yesterday I meet up with K for her senior pictures.  She is so beautiful and super sweet!  I really enjoyed our time!  K is another rower, so we had a ton to talk about.

I love her laugh…she did it every time I asked for a serious face.  She was too smiley to be serious for me!

I think she wore her yellow dress to coordinate with the yellow rose bushes.  So pretty!

And wow, look at all the medals!  I am seiously impressed!

I am behind with my blogging… I had a newborn and her big brother today that I will try to put a sneak peak up tomorrow.  Stay tuned!
